Don’t Worry, Baby

How a couple transformed an underused and dated bedroom into the perfect nursery for their baby girl.

PARTNERS IN ACTION

Erin and her husband Luke are people of action and both work full-time. When they first reached out to Reveal, they were about to welcome a baby girl into their lives.

and old dame

After purchasing a beautiful 1880s Victorian home, they set out to make it their own with a series of DIY projects like landscaping, putting in garden beds, and painting some of the home’s exterior.

Among these “small” projects was a heavy lift: stripping (lots and lots of!) wallpaper.

Now what?

The couple soon discovered that stripping entire rooms’ worth of wallpaper wasn’t the hardest part of their undertaking: choosing an aesthetic direction and picking colors they both felt good about was much harder!

REVEAL MY PALETTE

Reveal came in to design a whole house color palette that would give this energetic couple cohesive direction.

We made sure the palette included moody colors that they could use in a den as well as cheerful and easy colors for everyday living, especially in the new baby girl’s nursery.

FUTURE IMPACT

Armed with a group of seven colors that harmonize together and a design sensibility (the couple is really into mixing Mid-Century Modern furniture with their home’s period details) all their own, Erin and Luke can now tackle projects in their spare time without fear of missing their unique design beat.

We have received many compliments on the color selection and coordination, while also complimenting the age and character of the home.

Ren also staged our nursery and did a fabulous job at that. It is easily my favorite room in the home.

She additionally helped with artwork placement, lighting selection, furniture ideas, storage options and window shade selection.
